Budget Intelligence

Getting started & help

Understand the record.
Know your next step.

Practical guidance for setting up your financial structure and reviewing your first budget workspace.

First 30 minutes

Start with your organization and fiscal year. Add funds, departments, and accounts, then create the appropriate budget version. Bring your current budget and source documents.

Budget versions

Proposed means a budget under consideration. Adopted refers to the approved budget of record, supported by the appropriate adoption evidence. Amended records later authorized changes. Actual records amounts reported for real activity.

Evidence and verification

Describe the source, who supplied it, and its status. A source-reported total and a software-calculated total may differ; preserve both and investigate the difference.

Approvals and roles

Give each team member the access needed for their responsibilities. Review approval roles and restrictions on self-approval before requesting a material change.

Reconciliation

A discrepancy is a reason to investigate, not a reason to silently change a figure. Unresolved issues may block publication or require warnings in reports.

Reports and exports

PDF, XLSX, and CSV serve different needs. Review the fiscal year, version, source status, and warnings so the exported report is understood in context.

Subscription and offboarding

Use Billing in your organization to subscribe, open the Stripe billing portal, or export organization records. Retention windows and support response targets are not yet published commitments.
